Hey. I've just turned 20, as of today (7th of July). I used to do cross-country, and was probably at my height of running in 2014/2015. I've put on roughly 20kg since then, due to a mixture of being lazy and bulking for weight training.
I just bought a pair of Nike Free RN Distance 2s, and a book called " The Way of the Runner" by Adharanand Finn for my birthday. I bought these because I want to begin running after a horrible stretch of smoking for 2 months, and general unhealthy habits for the past year. Running was one of the few sports which I enjoy yet hate. It's the biggest love/hate relationships I've ever had, mostly because I have neglected my physical health for too long.
I bought the book because I had read "Born to Run" in 2014 which made me highly motivated to run before, so hopefully this resparks any doubts in myself. I know that regardless of the book, I have to use these shoes for something.
So I want to use this webpage to document my times, my runs, my plans, and any other tidbits I'll experience in the next few months. Hopefully by the end of university I'll run a marathon. I've got 2 years till then. Wishing myself the best of luck.
